12 (Non-Packers Related) Things To Do in Green Bay

Growing up in Green Bay, I’ve heard it a million times, “What’s in Green Bay besides the Packers?” And while we are proud of (ok, that’s an understatement – more like obsessed with) our team, I know there is so much more to see and do in Green Bay. So, in honor of Aaron Rodgers, here’s a list of 12 things to do on your next trip to Titletown.

Now being a long-time Green Bay resident myself, I know I missed a ton of other places to visit when you’re in the area. Add to my list below…and ah heck, feel free to drop a few Packers’ suggestions as well!

Chad Diedrick is the managing producer for the nation’s longest-running tourism TV show,Discover Wisconsin. In his 12+ years of discovering Wisconsin, Chad has seen virtually every corner of the state. Between filming breaks, you’re likely to catch Chad trying his hand at a round of disc golf at a local course. (His goal is to hit every disc golf course in Wisconsin!) Watch Discover Wisconsin Saturdays at 10 a.m. on FSN Wisconsin’s outdoor block.

We went to the GreenBay Tourism Office trying to find things to do in Green Bay in one day that were not related to football…. Lambeau Field is the main and only attraction the office can recommend..

I lived in Green Bay for five years. Some other areas of interest include:

UW-Green Bay University has a beautiful arboretum with 270 acres surrounding the campus. There are many trails, a small hidden church in the forest and a tower that looks out over the bay (all for free) – http://www.uwgb.edu/biodiversity/natural-areas/arboretum/architectural-features.asp

Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is near UWGB and the Bay Beach Amusement Park and is beautiful and free – http://www.baybeachwildlife.com/

If gambling is your thing there are two Oneida Casinos in Green Bay.

Entertainment: Resch Center, Weidner Center, UWGB, St. Norbert’s., Fox River Tours.

Other points of interest: Seroogy’s Chocolates, Beerntsen’s Candies, The Cannery Public Market, Green Bay Farmer’s Market (on Saturdays, downtown), and the shops on Broadway.

Drinks: The Libertine, Green Bay Distillery, Captain’s Walk Winery, Hinterland Brewery, Titletown Brewing, Noble Roots Brewing Company, Cock & Bull Publick House, Stillmank Brewing Company, Jimmy Sea’s, Prohibition Spirits & Cigar Lounge, Escapades.

Food: A’Bravo Bistro, Angelina’s, Little Tokyo, Bangkok Garden, White Dog Black Cat Cafe, Kavarana Coffee Shop (vegan/vegetarian), Kroll’s East or West (old fashioned burger joint), Wally’s Spot Supper Club (if you want the WI supper club experience), Proof, The Pancake Place (breakfast diner),

Some of these locations are in DePere but it’s right next to Green Bay so I included them.

How can you not mention Maplewood meat market. If you appreciate quality meats this place is a site to behold. I’m from Madison but visit the area frequently, I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve bought there.
