What do you get when you combine entertainment, art, family fun, and one of Wisconsin’s largest charity events? Ashley for the Arts. In 2017 alone, this Arcadia, Wis. event raised nearly half a million dollars for more than 40 non-profit organizations, and attendees took with them wonderful memories to last them a lifetime (or at least until the next year). There are so many things to love about Ashley for the Arts, but here are just a few of our favorites:

  1. The musical lineup

We had to cut to the chase and mention our favorite part…the music! This year’s festival will feature Rascal Flatts, Daughtry, Rick Springfield, Andy Grammer, Dan+Shay, Chris Janson, ZZ Ward and Carly Pearce, not to mention the many local bands and school performances also taking place throughout the weekend. Practice your best air guitar, get out those air drum sticks, and warm up that singing voice, because this is going to be good.
  2. Pursuit of a Cure 5k Run/Walk

Whether running is your thing or not, the Pursuit of a Cure 5k is a great idea. Each participant is able to choose a charitable organization that their entry fee will benefit, and 100% of the funds raised benefit the American Cancer Society, Rita Tranberg Memorial, and the Arcadia Ambulance Service.
  3. Art & Craft Fair

Memorial Park Drive is lined with nearly 100 art and craft booths, where everything from jewelry and woodwork to paintings and sculptures are sold. If you’re lucky, you may even catch them showcasing their talents through live demonstrations! Are you an artist yourself? Apply to be a vendor!
  4. Cruisin’ for the Arts Car Show

Who doesn’t love a good car show? This event showcases a variety of cars and motorcycles through decades of history. Take a good look at each one, and then cast your vote for your favorites! Fan-favorites are awarded prizes at the end of the show.
  5. Family Fun

While adults of all ages will enjoy the wide variety of musical performances, collector cars, art pieces and a charitable race, the children will keep busy with various circus acts, carnival games, interactive art, a petting zoo, hot air balloon launch, and fireworks!
  6. Food Vendors

No festival is complete without a good selection of food. Ashley for the Arts prides itself on a wide variety of local and delicious vendors, including Big Boar BBQ, Brenda’s Frybread, Cup and Cone, Five Star Eggroll, Oly’s Mini Donuts, Todd’s Ribs, Woodshed Pizza, and so much more! The food alone is enough to convince us to pencil this event in to our calendars.

There is no shortage of summer celebrations in Wisconsin, but there’s something magical about knowing your money is being used to benefit many, all while having a great time. Ashley for the Arts takes place August 9-11, 2018. Don’t miss it!
