With High Cliff State Park right inside of Calumet County, you can expect a lot of different exercise-based activities and events there all summer long. One fun event includes the Cliff Runner 10k. This year the event will be held on Sunday, July 24th right at High Cliff State Park. This 10k trail run is an extremely challenging one that incorporates some of the most difficult sides of the park and is a true experience you won’t forget! If a 10k isn’t enough, no worries! The High Cliff Ultra is happening this year on Saturday, August 6th! This is a 25k or 50k trail race that rolls through prairies, stairs, and trails, and you’ll even get to see some of the most beautiful views of Lake Winnebago and the Niagara Escarpment!

If exercise-based activities aren’t your fancy, maybe a summer concert series can be! Every Thursday from June to Mid-August you can find your fun at the Chilton City Band’s Summer in the Park Concert Series! Music performances will be by the Chilton City Band and other special guest performers at Hobart Park. You can bring your own chair or blanket, grab a bit to eat and a delicious beverage and listen to music this summer!

For a one-of-a-kind experience, you’ll want to head out on a Cave Tour at the Ledge View Nature Center in Chilton. Most Saturdays throughout the summer the center will hold cave tours at 1pm and you can learn about the geology, biology, and human history of the caves!

Some other events happening this summer in Calumet County include: Chilton Farmers Market, Chilton Summer Festival, Cheesehead Run 5k/ Half Marathon/ Half Marathon Relay, Forest Junction Car Show, and so much more! Learn about all of the events happening in Calumet County by clicking here.

We know that fall brings beautiful fall foliage across the state of Wisconsin, but it also brings many family-friendly activities as well, especially in Calumet County! The first is the Pumpkin Harvest Celebration, which is celebrated all autumn long. You can also join the fun at Mulberry Lane Farm from the start of autumn all the way through the end of October. Best part? Every guest gets a free pumpkin that you pick yourself! There are so many family-friendly activities to take part in as well such as milking a cow, going on a hayride, playing at the Old Fashion play area, and of course, grabbing delicious bites to eat!

If you’re wanting a bit of a spookier event, add the Haunted Halloween Golf Cart Rides at Hickory Hills Country Club to your to-do list! This kid-friendly event takes you through the haunted golf course, woods, and sheds on a 6 to 8-person golf cart to get all of your scary memories in for the fall. The haunted rides take place on Fridays and Saturdays in October so be sure to grab your tickets to get in on the fun!

Another event that is great for all of our Wisconsin and visitor’s families is the Pumpkin Walk at Brillion Nature Center! On Saturday, October 16th you can definitely join in on the fun along the Cottonwood Trail that gets lined with hundreds of lit jack-o-lanterns. After your stroll (which is stroller friendly), you can warm up inside with refreshments or sit around the fire and tell campfire stories!

And if you couldn’t visit the caves at the Ledge View Nature Center in the summertime, you will definitely want to add their Halloween Candlelight Cave Tours to your list! This family-friendly event will take visitors through the candlelight trails and caves at the Ledge View Nature Center on October 21st and October 22nd!
