Four Breweries to Discover This St. Patrick’s Day

Discover Wisconsin

March 4, 2016

Here in Wisconsin, you can’t go wrong with a great beer. With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, we have it made with our local breweries! Let’s take a look at what these breweries—all of which are official members of Something Special from Wisconsin—have in store for us this spring:

  1. New Glarus Brewing Company
    New Glarus (7)

Located on the outskirts of New Glarus, this brewery focuses on staying local and only distributes beer throughout Wisconsin. New Glarus Brewery also uses 100 percent natural ingredients making their handcrafted beer world-class. One thing I enjoy about New Glarus Brewing Company is that they brew new unique beers constantly allowing for a wide selection of beers. Their most popular and well-known beer is Spotted Cow, which they brew all year long. Next time you are looking for a specialty Wisconsin beer, crack open a bottle of New Glarus beer!

  1. Sprecher Brewing Company

When you think Sprecher, you might immediately think of their iconic root beer (…and rightfully so. It just so happens to be the official root beer of Discover Wisconsin!). But they’ve also got quite the beer brewing operation going on. Sprecher Brewing Company, located in Glendale, offers daily tours of their facility that include a stop at an indoor beer garden where you’ll sample up to 20 beers and 10 sodas. This micro-brewery focuses on its specialty craft beers and offers a pretty impressive selection. With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner though, I’ve got their Irish Stout on the brain…

  1. Valkyrie Brewing Company
    Valkyrie Brewery (2)

Located in the small town of Dallas in Barron County, Valkyrie Brewing Company prides themselves in brewing their unique and outstanding beers. With both year-round and unique seasonal brews, every beer lover is bound to find something he or she likes. Next time you are in northwestern Wisconsin, be sure to stop by Valkyrie Brewing Company. Take a free tour of the brewery on Saturdays…and throw on an extra layer!

  1. Wisconsin Dells Brewing Company
    Wisconsin Dells (2)
Wisconsin Dells Brewing Company, as you probably guessed, is located in Wisconsin Dells. Fun fact: Brew master Jamie is the only female brew master in Wisconsin. (Girl power!) She has 10 beers and three sodas on tap every day of the year. Wisconsin Dells Brewing Company has five beers that are year-round; they also rotate between nine seasonal and specialty beers, ensuring exciting flavors no matter the season. Enjoy these beers fresh at Moosejaw Pizza in the Dells or pick a case up at your local grocery store.

There are so many unique breweries here in Wisconsin. We would love to hear of others that you enjoy. Please comment below and share your thoughts. Remember to enjoy Wisconsin beers safely and responsibly!
