New Richmond: Experience the Western Edge of the State

Discover Wisconsin

March 25, 2020

Nestled on the western edge of Wisconsin lies New Richmond,  just 29 miles NE of St. Paul, Minnesota. The city is conveniently located inside the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area. With incredible local breweries and activities for the entire family, here are some of our favorite spots to stop in New Richmond.

  1. Grab a drink downtown on the largest rooftop bar in Western Wisconsin at Champ’s Bar and Grill.
  2. Keep the drinks flowing at the second distillery to be established in the state, 45th Parallel. Take the tour and see every piece of the process.
  3. Spend a weekend in the Summer watching races on one of the only dirt tracks in Wisconsin, at Cedar Lake Speedway.
  4. Meet up with Mike Deneen, one of the best kayak guides you’ll find, with Willow River Kayaks and take your time paddling down the serene Willow River.
  5. And on the right weekend in the Summer, you can kayak right up to Mary Park and see the annual Park Art Fair.
