Discover Wisconsin

January 10, 2019

Wisconsin’s unique supper club history is the star of an upcoming episode of Discover Wisconsin. “Wisconsin Supper Clubs” will explore the fascinating stories behind the state’s beloved culinary tradition. The show will launch on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Chromecast and Smart TVs on January 10, 2019. It is the first Discover Wisconsin episode to air on major streaming platforms.
Host Stephanie Klett will take viewers to the top four supper clubs in the state, three of which were voted best of the best during Travel Wisconsin’s Supper Club Showdown. Showcasing food, family and memories that last, this episode will highlight why supper clubs have become such a popular staple in Wisconsin.
“Supper clubs have been an iconic part of Wisconsin for over 100 years. Travelers want an authentic experience, and food is a big part of that,” said Klett. “Wisconsin is home to more than 250 supper clubs that not only provide an authentic dining experience, they’ve shared it with residents and visitors for generations.”
The episode kicks off at Buckhorn Supper Club, where Klett features the restaurant’s unforgettable food and view of Lake Koshkonong. Next, she’ll make her way to Lehman’s Supper Club to discover how this family-owned destination has mastered classic Wisconsin comfort food. The show also visits Pinewood Supper Club, known for its amazing lakeside location and atmosphere. Finally, Ishnala Supper Club finishes up the tour as the number one supper club in the state.
With its launch to streaming services, Discover Wisconsin will be the first series of its kind available on digital platforms with a worldwide reach. Discover Wisconsin launched in 1987 with an episode that was produced in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. More than 30 years later, the program is launching its first ever digital episode, again in partnership with the Department of Tourism.
In addition to being available on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Chromecast or Smart TVs, “Wisconsin Supper Clubs” will also reach Discover Wisconsin’s broadcast network of 500,000 viewers across the upper Great Lakes region, including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Northern Illinois, and Upper Michigan.
